The Australian and New Zealand Journal of European Studies (ANZJES) has published a special Issue Vol. 14 No. 4 (2022): Independence. Archive. Prognosis. Ukraine in 1991-2021 and Beyond. It was edited by Alessandro Achilli from Università degli Studi di Cagliari, Dipartimento di Lettere, Lingue e Beni Culturali, and Marko Pavlyshyn from Monash University.
The five papers published in this issue of the ANZJES represent only a small portion of the scholarly work presented at the February 2022 conference in New Zealand organised by the Ukrainian Studies Association of Australia and New Zealand. Many colleagues have not been able to submit their papers for consideration because of the war: some have been displaced, others are fighting on the front line or volunteering to support Ukraine’s defence efforts.
